Without touching the line, how can you make it shorter? The first 5 correct responses will be eligible for a free gift. Please email your response to We will announce the winners in our March Newsletter as well as our monthly dinner meeting in February.

Hint: For the right answer, please read Jan 20 18 Newsletter.

Time flies…we are entering in the 2nd month of the year.

There are not too many quotes that catch my attention. However, last month I received a simple text message: “Life is like a tennis match. If we wish to win, we must serve well and return well. And remember, the game starts with love all.”

Some of us are good in serving, some in returning and some in both. Champions are good in both, but we all have our different strengths, weaknesses, and physical limitations. Whatever our strengths are, we should utilize them to the maximum and excel in everything we do in our life. “Excel” does not mean perfection. It means to strive to do better than good.

It was my privilege to honor one of our very dedicated members, George Matthews, with a Life Time Achievement Award at our January dinner meeting. George joined ASQ in April 1968 and celebrates his 50th anniversary this year as a committed ASQ member. Our section is where it is today only because of our past and current leadership and our membership. I urge all members to attend meetings regularly and promote events to their colleagues, clients, and anyone who may be impacted with by quality (hint: that is everyone). The more the merrier!!! The purpose of any society is to be inclusive.

At this point, I urge you to help in recruiting at least one member: student, associate member, full member, etc.

Starting May 1st, we are going to make minor changes to our monthly dinner meeting registration fee. Please read more details and the justification on Page 13 in February 2018 Newsletter. If you have questions, please feel free to email me at

Best regards,
