Statistical tools are used to make Data Based Business Decisions. These are decisions, based on evidence, that have a very high probability of being correct. In this Seminar, students will learn some basic Statistical Tools using Minitab. Students should bring their laptops with Minitab loaded. FYI, students can download Minitab 18 for free (30-day free trial) at If using the 30-day free trial version of Minitab 18, please download just prior to the Seminar. Also there will be electrical outlets to plug in your laptop computers.

Our speaker: Ned Schneider

Ned Schneider is a consultant and trainer with Advanced Response Engineering, LLC and has 20+ years medical device industry experience as an engineer and Director of Engineering working for several leading technology companies. Ned has received many Corporate Awards from 3M, Allergan and Advanced (Abbott) Medical Optics for outstanding performance that resulted in significantly improved product and process performance while reducing costs by millions of dollars annually. He says much of his project success resulted from using Design of Experiments to gain new knowledge about product and process performance necessary for breakthrough business results.

Ned has compiled many Patents over the course of his engineering career and has a B.S.M.E. & B.S. Industrial Engineering and Management. Ned teaches ASQ Certification Refresher Classes for the Certified Six Sigma Black Belt and Certified Quality Engineering Programs and he has taught Design of Experiments (DOE) for both UC Irvine and UC San Diego through their Extension & Corporate Training Programs. He  is an ASQ Certified Six Sigma Black Belt and Certified Quality Engineer with considerable expertise in the areas of product development, process development and automation.
